I’ve never been one to really speak-up for myself. In fact, I remember being freaked out by having to ring the doorbell and say ‘Trick-or-Treat’ to strange grown-ups ridding themselves of candy corn… Or there was that one time when we had to deliver christmas cards for the geriatric gremlins at the nursing home. Shortly thereafter I proceeded to be called devil child as I dodged from the potpourri particles flying from an old man’s mouth.
I suppose that’s why it’s really hard for me to write. It’s easy for me to blab to my hen-pecking co-workers, but when it comes to actually SAYING something… well, that’s the hard part.
With that said, I really like the idea of a blog. I like the idea of my thoughts, dreams, etc. being acceptable to millions of people around the world. The more I think about it, I start to wonder how dangerous that really is. I think of some of the dumb stuff people say to me on a regular basis, and I’m thinking
Some people really are full of shit.
Take my boss for a second. She feels that my lack of enthusiasm for Obama is due to growing up surrounded by simpletons from a small town. I don’t like Obama, therefore, I’m an anti-gay eco raper that wants to bomb women and children.
Well. I digress.
In fact, I look at it this way:
-With the current economic trail, I’m not going to have Medicare or Social Security. As a mere bar wench, I make a grand total $2.13 an hour. I need all the freakin’ help I can get. Fair Tax to me is a good idea.
- I feel as though the legalization of Marijuana would solve a lot of the “putting money back into the economy” thing. I know at least 9 out of the 10 people I encounter on a daily basis would much rather smoke pot than pay their gas bill. Sad, but oh so true.
- To me, the government has turned into the same thing they ran from over 200 years ago. History repeats itself, right?
My biggest concern with Obama is that all of his so called “changes” are going to cost me more money. I can barely afford to live as it is. Instead of healthcare, how about some gas? Or some groceries? Even better, I say we just let people fuck their own lives up. Not wait on the govn’t to help them do it.
To me, all of these Pro-Obamanites are just looking for a handout.
I say, take care of yourself, so that people like me can to.
